- Feature Article - |
EDITOR'S NOTE: Here are a few recent stories and feature articles from a variety of sources that are related to the kinds of issues we cover on our web site. They'll represent a small percentage of the information available to us, the public, as we fight to provide meaningful recovery services and help for those who've suffered child abuse. We'll add to and update this page regularly, bringing you just a few of the featured articles on the web site. |

The NEW Birthday Campaign
Dedicate your birthday to supporting NAASCA
by Bill Murray
Recently, and all of a sudden, it was that time again .. my BIRTHDAY !!! .. (March 26, 1953) ..
It seems like this happens every year !
LOL

The Birthday Campaign |
This year I worked my way through thanking literally hundreds of birthday greetings on Facebook and LinkedIn (where I've some 7,500 social media friends). It occurred to me that here was an opportunity not only to express my gratitude for the kind works many wrote, but also to remind the community we've built and serve to consider giving back.
And there are numerous ways to support our truly unique organization .. |
NAASCA, as you know, is entirely run by non paid volunteers, including me, many of whom work hard on our simple but profound mission, to educate the public and support the still-suffering survivor of child abuse.
We certainly need everyone's time, energy and skill sets to make all this work (over 30 FREE programs, tools and services, and thousands of articles, links and resources, etc), and we always have additional opportunities to be an active volunteer. We're as active as can be! |
The NEW Birthday Campaign
Dedicate your birthday to supporting NAASCA
We receive no outside funding or grants, belong to no other organization, and are entirely self-supporting through our own voluntary contributions. We rely on, and are eternally grateful for, the tax-deductable donations we receive from our members our families and friends .. or from those who appreciate all we do.
I'm suggesting a NEW Birthday Campaign program, dedicating each of our birthdays to our NAASCA family as an opportunity to express our support financially, too. We've made it easy to do, and simple to remember how.
Just go to www dot naasca dot org slash contribute and you'll always be at the right spot .. like this: |

|
So .. if you'd like to send a gift on your birthday (or any other time), please donate to NAASCA using our new simple-to-use and easy-to-remember web site link in this message (above).
Making a one-time or ongoing contribution to our non profit is made there through PayPal (which is easiest for us to track).
You'll also find our mailing address on the new page, if you prefer to mail a check or money order made out to 'NAASCA' instead.
Feel free to SHARE this New Birthday Campaign far and wide, or to use the link in between birthdays, especially in other non-NAASCA groups you belong to. Or place the link in emails if you want to use that method to spread the word.
That way this message will be shared, too.
Thank you to all our volunteers, family members and participants. Together we can do what we can not do alone!
|
NOTE: Some businesses and organizations make matching contributions on behalf of their employees. You might want to check this out. They may not explicitly promote their program.
Another idea is to add NAASCA to your Will or Trust. Future support will be needed, too. It all matters.
Finally .. having decided to dedicate my birthday to supporting our NAASCA family's efforts by asking for contributions, I suggest others might want to do so as well. It could become a dynamic and ongoing way for us to show our dedication to NAASCA's mission.
Just use the new URL below.
No matter how you do so, if you want to share financial support info with others, our new easy-to-remember and simple-to-use NAASCA web page address makes things easy. Again, it works on social media sites as well as in an email:

.
REMEMBER there are lots of ways to contribute to the NAASCA experience .. and we NEED you!
We're building a survivor community because together we can do what we can not do alone. We all do Outreach.
Read about becoming a NAASCA Volunteer.
If you wish to get more involved, please get in touch with Terri Lanahan of Butte, Montana: t_lanahan@yahoo.com - 406 / 782-5235. She coordinates all our volunteers and can point a new volunteer in the right direction.
With all there is to do Terri will find something for each of you, and we believe all of us can play a role in educating the public, and offering services for healing for still-suffering adult survivors of childhood traumas !!
