NAASCA Global
Ambassadors
-------------------------------------------
Now International !! |
We're growing quickly and want to organize our efforts a bit better. So we've provided the 'NAASCA Ambassadors' tool. At this point Bill Murray, NAASCA's Founder and CEO, who resides in Los Angeles, is coordinating this project. The commitment as an Ambassador requires a small amount of training for all these volunteers, including a basic familiarity with our web site, projects, tools, services & resources, and a commitment to represent NAASCA in their state or province. We began the project by listing regions in North America (8 in the US and 2 in Canada), assigning each a 'Regional Director'. |

NEW: NAASCA's Global Ambassadors .. representing us around the world
Having now completed what originally seemed like a daunting project, listing ALL the North American Ambassadors in the US and Canada, we've decided it's time to launch our International version. We're encouraging new Global Ambassadors who'll represent NAASCA from around the world. We'll separate them in such a way as to organize by continent, country and, where appropriate, state or territory.
Remember, these are living lists. You can help us by volunteering to be the point person for the organization in your area. A small amount of training is required for all the volunteer Ambassadors, including a basic familiarity with our web site, projects, tools, services & resources, and a commitment to represent NAASCA in one's country, state or province. |
A short description of the commitment as a volunteer Ambassador can be found below. We feel each Regional Director should be coordinating and guiding the work done by the Ambassadors in their Region (usually about 8, one for each state), as well as being in touch with the overall project coordinator and to help in recruiting volunteers for any open slots.
Here's what being an Ambassador is all about:
Ambassadors in their communities reach out to local organizations that address related issues: prevention of child abuse, supporting survivors, and promoting NAASCA's messaging and mission.
In addition, Ambassadors act as a guest and contributor to the monthly newsletter, radio show, social media, and content contribution.
Ambassadors may be speakers, share information, and be a resource to survivors and organizations that are local, regional, state, and national, to help guide and support survivors, leaders, and organizations seeking to educate, prevent, and support survivors.
This is not a job or paid position; it is solely a volunteer position and there is no required time constraint.
It is helpful for Ambassadors to support one another and it is also helpful to NAASCA to share what Ambassadors are doing in their local communities as well, through a monthly report. |
Our project coordinator will occasionally contact our Ambassadors, to check in with them, give them guidance and get ideas. Many times an Ambassador will suggest something others can use .. a local project or a fundraising idea. |
Here are the US / Canadian Ambassadors. We still need representatives in certain places. Below this is the list of new Global Ambassadors. |

NAASCA's US / Canadian Ambassadors
We've grown to the point where we've decided to identity separate 'Regions' of North America and assign specific NAASCA volunteer 'Ambassadors' to their states or provinces.
Each group of states and provinces will be supervised by a 'Regional Director' (8 regions in the US and 2 in Canada, East and West).
The hub for all we do is the front page of the NAASCA.org web site, because through it one can engage in almost everything we offer.
Regional Directors and Ambassadors are expected to be well-versed in our many services, tools and projects, as well as be able to engage in our social media efforts.
As NAASCA's local representatives, Ambassadors will be the a primary point-person who's available for the newcomer to NAASCA.
Equally important to knowing what NAASCA does is to understand what we DON'T do. |

This NAASCA Global Ambassador project is a brand new tool for us, coordinated by Pamela Lockridge, NAASCA Director of Communications, who resides in Loisianna. Please contact her if you wish to be considered for one of the open positions.
Pamela will provide a small amount of required training for all these potential volunteer Ambassadors. She'll want to feel there's a basic familiarity with our web site, projects, tools, services & resources .. and a commitment to represent NAASCA in one's state or province.
It's also our preference that each Ambassador appear as a 'special guest' on our "Stop Child Abuse Now" talk radio shows where they tell their story .. what it was like as a child, what happened in their adulthood and what it's like now in recovery.
We'll offer a link to an Ambassador's recorded SCAN episode and another to a social media profile on Facebook or LinkedIn, along with the Ambassador's email address and phone number.
NOTE: We produce a very popular Recovery Groups and Services worldwide list where we carry all the recurring weekly or monthly meetings we know of, along with all local service organizations. This unique tool is global, so nearly everyone who visits our web site can take advantage of this wonderful service. We also carry a separate "On-Line" resource for Internet-based recovery groups.
We also provide our unique NAASCA Calendar of Events tool that carry's non-recurring calendar event listings for everything we know of .. from across the country, and around the world.
This is where we list workshops, conferences, rallies, marches and so on. We started with the United States and Canada, but now have calendars for virtually every country on earth. Send us your non-recurring events. We'll list them for you !!
Finally, go to our web site's HIGHLIGHTS page for a quick understanding of
NAASCA's many FREE services / tools / projects. All are offered by non-paid NAASCA volunteers. Read the statistics of abuse. Take advantage of our special articles, member appearances on our SCAN talk shows, opinion pieces, archives and thousands of resources. Consider how you might become involved.
